Abstract:

Since the establishment of China's stock markets in Shanghai and Shenzhen in early 1990s, there has been tremendous development in the securities market in China. The remarkable progress is also accompanied by some inevitable problems. Many important research issues, such as pricing of securities, security regulation, corporate finance, and corporate governance of listed company, have been raised. In order to give impetus to further development of China's securities markets and encourage rigorous financial research and teaching, the Center for China Financial Research (CCFR) at The University of Hong Kong and the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) of Peking University jointly organize a "Conference on China Security Market and Financial System Reform" to be held in Beijing.
